It was really well equipped, perfectly clean on arrival, and warm and cosy. Ben was very friendly and helpful and the hosts were very generous with the provision of everything we needed plus lots of treats. The location of the cottage is beautiful and peaceful with lovely walks/cycle rides from the door and the hot tub is a total winner! All the family young and old, including dog, loved it. We would definitely recommend a stay at the cottage.Posted onVerified We had a wonderful stay for my dad's 70th birthday. Plenty of room for 8 adults, one child, two babies and a dog and the host was happy to provide a travel cot and high chair. Amazing beautiful location right in the heart of the forest, with walking/cycling trails right on the doorstep. Sitting in the hot tub listening to the owls hooting in the forest was a real bonus! Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting an escape to the forest.Posted onVerified For a party of 10 (4 children) Bloom Gorse Cottage was ideal. Since we self-catered most meals, the kitchen was perfect for preparing and storing food. Wifi connectivity (so important for the young people) was efficient, and the hot tub experience was the hit of the stay. Having access to a forest outside your back door, the absence of ambient light on the clear nights, and the peace and quiet of the setting was so important for us urban-dwellers. Though we only made use of the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, had we stayed longer, the number of attractive sites in the local area or within a reasonable drive would have also been a plus.Posted onVerified We had at great time and enjoyed the beautiful, secluded surroundings of the forest. The house was immaculate, the surrounding environment serene and our stay was everything we’d hoped for and more.Ben was the perfect host. He responded to messages promptly, allowed us to arrive at the property slightly before check-in to decorate and even went to the trouble of fetching more gas for our BBQ that evening. The house itself was spotless, we were greeted with a basket of goodies, fresh towels and coffee pods - with the hot tub heating outside. During our stay we travelled into Nottingham twice, taxis were able to find the address with ease using the clear directions provided by the host (a taxi cost around £40 into the city centre & took around 45 minutes). We did not get to explore a great deal of the beautiful surrounding forest - due to the poor weather - so we will most definitely be returning! I honestly could not recommend this beautiful stay more. Great value for money & wonderful hosts. 10/10 ✨Load more
